Court operations are supported by technology tools and applications that enhance customer service and the business operations of the court.
Digital Audio Recording Systems
All of the hearing rooms and courtrooms located in the Genesee County Courthouse are equipped with digital audio recording systems. This technology meets the recording requirements of MCR 8.109 (A) and allows the court record to be stored as a computer file.

WIFI (wireless internet access) is available throughout courtrooms, hearing rooms and conference rooms. This service is free and available to the public. To access the network make certain that your wireless adapter is turned on. You should notice a wireless network detected. The public wireless network is named “courthouse.”
Video conferencing enables remote participation and is available in most of the courtrooms and hearing rooms. The ADR hearing room in the law library is equipped with a high definition display screen and camera. This equipment is used to facilitate attorney client meetings between court appointed appellate counsel and clients who are incarcerated in a facility operated by the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC).
To schedule a virtual prison visit with an inmate located at an MDOC facility, please contact the court technology coordinator at email@example.com. Advance notice is required.

- Portable microphone
Equipment reservations should be made at least 24 hours in advance of the desired date and is subject to availability. Details related to use and set up should be discussed in advance.
