The specialized business court docket consists of cases that meet the requirements of MCL 600.8031 and MCL 600.8035. The statutory purpose of which is to improve efficiency, allow business or commercial disputes to be resolved with the expertise, technology and efficiency required by the information age economy and enhance the accuracy, consistency and predictability of decisions in business and commercial cases.

Notice to Request Case Assignment

Note: Effective September 1, 2013, MCR 2.112(O) requires verification on the face of the party’s initial pleading that the case involves a business or commercial dispute as defined in MCL 600.8031 and meets the statutory criteria to be assigned to the business court. A similar requirement applies to other responsive or amendatory filings.
